Obituary
Lupe T. Veracruz, a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Tuesday, February 4, 2025.
She was a long-time member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Belton, TX., where she found strength in her faith and community. Lupe was always in prayer for her family, friends and those in need, offering kindness and support to everyone she met. She found great joy in reading and cooking, creating meals that brought family and friends together. Her kitchen was a place of warmth, laughter, and cherished memories.
Lupe is survived by her children, Elena Gamble (husband Alphonso), Bobby Veracruz, Dorothy Veracruz, and Jordan Preston (husband Billy). She was a cherished grandmother to Addison Montgomery, Kristin Hinkley (husband Tague), Bill Preston, and Gracie Preston; and a proud great grandmother to Rowan Rae, Karsyn Montgomery, Maddox Montgomery, William Hinkley, and Kendall Hinkley; her sister Orfilinda Lejia; and brother Louis Trevino; along with many nieces, and nephews, and extended family members who will continue to cherish her memory.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Willie Veracruz, her parents, Gabriel and Helen Trevino, and her sister, Sarah Canales. Lupe’s warmth, faith, and devotion to her family will continue in the hearts of all who knew her. And of course, she will always be remembered as a passionate football fan, cheering from above as her favorite teams take the field.
Her funeral service will be at Christ the King Catholic Church, on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 11:00am. Visitation and rosary will take place on Friday, February 7, 6-8pm, at Dossman Funeral Home.
