March 25, 1937 - October 24, 2024
Memorial services for Helga Frazier, age 87, will be held on Saturday, November 2nd at 1 pm at The Point Christian Fellowship in Temple, Texas, with her son-in-love, Pastor Rickey Donaldson, officiating. Dossman Funeral Home is helping with arrangements.
Mrs. Frazier was born in Munich, Germany, on March 25th, 1937, to Josef & Alyosia Dovjak, the eldest of three daughters. After being raised in Munich through World War Two, finishing school, and working in retail, Helga met and later married Harry H. Frazier Jr., a United States soldier in the Army in 1965. After being wed, orders to return to the United States presented a new challenge for Helga. Not speaking the language, she faced life in a new country with determination and great hope. As a new wife and young mother in a new country, Helga taught herself how to drive and speak English and made a wonderful home for her family while her husband was deployed to Vietnam.
Helga and her family moved frequently due to her husband’s military career. In 1977, they were stationed in Mannheim, Germany. She enjoyed being in Germany, spending time with her mother, and traveling. In 1983 the family returned to the United States and settled in Killeen, Texas. Helga continued to work and later enjoyed her role as a greeter at the Automax car dealership. She served
her new country as a devoted Army wife for twenty-five years. Helga, affectionately known as “Oma” by all those who were close to her, had a passion for gardening, flowers, shoes, and anything with “bling.” As a member of The Point Christian Fellowship,
she served as a greeter, always welcoming all who would enter with her beautiful smile and kind
heart.
Helga is survived by her sister, Luise Bachnicki of Miamisburg, Ohio, and three daughters, Karin Hart of Sarasota, Florida, Angi Bridgeman of Waco, Texas, and Annette Donaldson of Temple, Texas. Nine grandchildren, Christopher Davis, Jonathon Davis, Kati Irwin, Sheree Hart of Florida, Sarah Little and Lizz Price of Waco, Ashlyn Fuller and Brendan Donaldson of Temple, fourteen Great-Grandchildren,
and four Great-Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Hilde White, and granddaughter Brianna Donaldson of Temple. We find great comfort and hope knowing that Helga has received the fullness of her faith, Jesus Christ, and has been reunited with Brianna, her “Butzi.” Helga, Mom, Oma, Sister, will be greatly missed, but we do not grieve without hope as our faith in Jesus reassures us of our future uniting.
