Cynthia M. Gibson

Licensed Funeral Director

Cynthia Gibson was born in Pasadena, Texas and graduated from Sam Rayburn High School in 1982.  She attended San Jacinto Junior College and the University of Houston. A graduate of the Commonwealth College of Mortuary Science in Houston, Cynthia has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer since 1990. Cynthia married Bill Gibson in 1991 and they have one son Tyler Gibson who graduated from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin where he played soccer. She is a member of The First United Methodist Church in Belton.  She enjoys watching Tyler play soccer, traveling to Walt Disney World and running half marathons.  Cynthia enjoys a warm relationship with the families she serves and is dedicated to serving those families with the utmost in professionalism and care.

Danny C. Dossman

A lifelong Central Texan, he has 40 years of experience in the Funeral Business. Following graduation from the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Sciences, he took an entry-level Funeral Home position and, through hard work, commitment and attention to detail, has worked his way up to Funeral Home Ownership.


For many years, Mr. Dossman harbored the Dream of building Dossman Funeral Home. When the time came for that Dream to become Reality, he knew exactly what he wanted to build and exactly how he planned to serve Families.


"Our main goal all along has been and will continue to be serving the needs of People and Families the very best way we know how," he says. "That is our Promise, and that is our Commitment."


Mr. Dossman is very active in the Community. He is Past Chairman of the Board of the Belton Area Chamber of Commerce for the Year 2001, also served as Chairman of the nationally- renowned Belton Fourth of July Celebration. He was selected "Citizen of the Year" in 1997. He is an active member and Past President of the Belton Lions Club and was Lion Of The Year in 2007. He is a former City Councilman and Mayor Pro-Tem in Morgan's Point Resort. He and his wife, Kathi, and children, Emily and Nicholas, reside in Belton. The Family attends Christ Episcopal Church in Temple.

Born and raised in Phoenix Arizona until he joined the United States Marine Corps in 1977. In 2004 Rick moved to east Texas to start his second career as a third generation Funeral Director following in the footsteps of his grandfather and mother. Becoming fully licensed in 2009 after completing school at

Amarillo College. In 2015, Rick moved from east Texas to Bell County with his wife Tonja.

Rick has a son Alexander and a daughter Stephanie and 3 granddaughters. He is active in the American Legion and the Marine Corps League. 

Since High School Rick has dedicated his life of service to others in one form or another.

Brittany Ross

Brittany is a lifelong resident of Belton, TX. She graduated from Waskow High School in 2007.

She married Andrew Ross on July 14, 2012. She attended Northeast Community College, graduating in 2023 with her A.A.S. She became a fully licensed funeral director and embalmer in March of 2024. She has one son, Jensen. In her free time, she likes to read and be around family. 

She has a desire to help families during their grieving process and make life just a little easier for them.

Allen Lawton is a native of Bell County, being born in Belton. He graduated from Bartlett High School, Temple Junior College, and Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science. He is a United States Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War. He is married to the former Nadine Hargrove, and they have two daughters and four grandchildren. Prior to his retirement in 2009, he was employed as a funeral director and embalmer with Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple for a total of 30 years. Allen enjoys reading, especially military history, in his spare time.

Betty O’Hair Anderson grew up in Lampsas, TX, where she graduated from high school in 1961.  In 1964, she received a BA from Mary Hardin-Baylor College and married Marcus Anderson.  In 1983, she received an MS in Education from Baylor University and received certification as a reading specialist.  She taught 28 years in Belton, Salado and Temple. She and Mark have two children, Lee and Jana; two granddaughters, Hunter and Kaylee and one great-grandson, Chandler Bowman.  They currently live in Belton and are active members of First Baptist Church and devoted fans of UMHB athletics.  Betty has served several terms on the Alumni Board at UMHB and was President one term.  She is also a member of Bell County Retired School Employees.  She loves to read and travel, and Betty enjoys working part-time with Mark at Dossman Funeral Home.

Marcus Anderson grew up in Crawford, TX where he graduated from high school in 1959.  He attended Mary Hardin-Baylor College from 1961-63, then transferred to Baylor University where he graduated in 1964.  1964 was a good year because he also married Betty O’Hair and started his 40-year career in public education.  In 1969, he received a Master of Education degree and earned certification in administration from A&M University.  He served as Assistant Principal and then as Principal in Belton, Blooming Grove and Moody.  He served as Superintendent in Moody until retirement.  He and Betty have a son and daughter, two granddaughters and a great-grandson.  They live in Belton where he is an active member of the First Baptist Church and the Bell County Retired School Employees Association.  UMHB has remained an important part of his life; in 2015, he was named an Honorary Alumnus.  Working at Dossman Funeral Home is a rewarding part-time job.

Helen Jimenez

Helen was born and raised in Belton and graduated from Belton High School.  She was employed for forty-one years with Scott and White Hospital where she worked in the clinic.  A member of Christ The King Catholic Church, Helen volunteers for many activities such as the Eucharistic Ministry at many of the local nursing homes.  She is also a member of the Scott and White Auxiliary where she volunteers much of her time.  Helpful and with a friendly smile Helen assists families with visitations and services.

In Memory of Joe Bon Baisden December 7, 1936 - August 17, 2016

A native of Ellis County, Joe grew up in Killeen.  He graduated from Abilene Christian University with a music degree and did graduate studies in music at the University of Texas with a view to becoming a band director before entering the ministry.  He served churches in Austin, Bloomington, Abilene, and Washington, D. C. before beginning a 33-year pulpit ministry with the Belton Church of Christ.  Immediately upon retiring in January of 2004, Joe joined the support staff of Dossman's and is available as Minister on Staff to help families in need.  Joe and his wife Janelle celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary in June of 2009.  They have three children:  Son Donnie and wife Sherry live in Abilene; daughter JaneAnne and husband Scott Cox live in Belton; and daughter Katherine and husband Brent Gibson reside in Waco.  There are six granddaughters.  Joe enjoys community service and has been a long-time member of the Belton Lions Club, the Belton Area Chamber of Commerce, an avid supporter of Belton schools, and is the immediate past president of the Friends of the Lena Armstrong Public Library.  He concluded two terms (4 years) on the Belton City Council in May of 2009.  He and Janelle enjoy interim ministry and have served churches in Granbury, Garland, Corpus Christi, Palestine, Brenham, Arlington, Henderson, and Brownwood.

Lonnie grew up in Holland, Texas and retired from Scott and White Hospital in 1997 after 37 years of service.  He has been married to his wife Marilyn for 53 years.  They have three children, five grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.    He has been an active member of St. John Lutheran Church in Bartlett for over 50 years.  He enjoys fishing, traveling and spending time with his great granddaughter.

In Loving Memory Of Wanda Dee Rhoads 1944-2021

Wanda grew up in the Temple area and graduated from Temple high school. Married in 1963 to her husband James Rhoads from Moody, Texas they made there home in Temple and Wanda was very active in church ministry. Wanda worked for thirty years as an independent contractor for Home Interior and Gifts and later worked for many years with families and friends visitations at the funeral home. She was an absolutely beautiful soul and is dearly missed here at Dossman Funeral Home.

Mary Ann Maddux

Mary Ann was born and grew up in Holland, Texas.  She has been married to Glen Maddux for 59 years and they have made their home in Belton for the past 57 years.  She is an active member of Miller Heights Baptist, a former Sunday School teacher, she currently acts as a Sunday School records clerk.  Before retirement, she worked for the Bell County Tax District and also worked in the Savings and Loan industry.  She has  2 children and 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.  Mary Ann is very active in volunteer work which includes the American Cancer Society Relay for Life and acting as an election judge for Bell County.  She also enjoys traveling.   Mary Ann has worked for Dossman Funeral Home from its beginning and enjoys helping families served by the funeral home.
